Salisbury steak is a dish originating in the United States and made from a blend of ground beef and other ingredients and usually served with gravy or brown sauce. It is a version of Hamburg steak.

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 large egg , beaten
- 2 tablespoons natural ketchup
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Dash salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons plant butter
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil (for the skillet/ gravy)
- 6 oz sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 large sliced onion
- 2 1/2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons natural ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Mix the turkey, oats, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, egg, salt and pepper until ready to be shaped into 4 even oval patties.
- Heat butter in skillet on med/hi heat, place patties into skillet, cook till the sides are slightly crisp and cooked throughout. Remove and set aside on a plate.
- Add olive oil to pan with mushrooms and onion. Cook until tender, set aside.
- Create gravy: mix cornstarch and water in bowl; add broth, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce to skillet and then whisk in cornstarch mix, bring to a boil. Reduce to med/low, add back in mushroom/onions and patties, simmer till gravy thickens.
- Serve with mash potatoes and peas or salad
